Doug McKinnon
Principal

Doug joined Lionstone as a Principal in 2006. He serves as an Investment Committee member and works across all funds, overseeing all investment managers. 

Prior to joining Lionstone, Doug enjoyed a 24 year career with Hines. While at Hines, Doug gained a deep knowledge of the development process through a variety of markets and product types.

During his first 10 years with Hines, Doug was involved in the development of several major ventures in select U.S. cities. In 1990 Doug was instrumental in the establishment of Hines first international office in Berlin, Germany. During the subsequent 10 years Doug led the development of several major projects in Western Europe as Managing Director of Hines Germany. After repatriating to the United States in 2000, Doug led Hines Colorado efforts until 2005 when he left to form McKinnon & Associates.  McKinnon & Associates acted as Development Partner for Lionstone in their redevelopment of the Gates East Campus in Denver, Colorado. 

During his career, Doug has contributed to or managed the acquisition, financing and development of more than $3 billion of commercial real estate in both the United States and Western Europe.

Doug is a graduate of Stanford University.
